My mission: My mission is to provide an enriched cultural experience for children in a fun and safe environment. I will help dancers develop their own unique style, skills and passion for ballet folklórico while building their self-confidence. My ballet folklórico dance classes promote a positive and healthy lifestyle, build self-esteem and raise cultural awareness.
Highlights: Tera has offered folklórico dance classes for after school programs, assemblies and/or special events in over 20 public and private schools over the past 15 years – including LBUSD, DUSD, ABCSD & PUSD. Tera has taught folklórico and Latin dance to ages 3 through adult. Tera has taught/choreographed folklórico dances from over 15 regions, including Azteca and Revolución. Tera is CPR/AED/First Aid certified, including sudden cardiac arrest
What to expect during classes: Traditional zapateado warm up steps. Practice traditional folklórico steps/drills used in specific regional dances. Warm up, dance and build skills to Latin songs. Choreography and dance routines to traditional folklórico songs/regions. Possible performance opportunities.
